Ancestors I will start with my dad, a Royal Marine who I think never really got over his injuries. The only time he told me of his war was when I returned from a bad tour of N.Ireland, it helped me a lot.
My brother one step down in line was Royal Navy
The next was Fleet Air Arm, fireman, injured in the Falklands Conflict, not a war as some say we never declared war on Argentina. He was injured on the last day and is now classed as disabled.
The last was Army and in the Light Infantry.
Uncles all served in the military at some point, all in various types of action.

Looks like your fate was sealed.R.R.
I have three generations of military involvement in my family. Some traditions are hard to escape...

Re: All served
It does seem to run in the family,
Great grandad served in Royal Artillery during WW1, lost a leg.
Grandad served in Royal Artillery during WW2,
Father served in Royal Ordinance while doing his National service,
I served in Royal Artillery reserves for 18yrs, deployed to Bosnia in 95 and Iraq in 04.
