New WPL B24 Gaz truck!

Heng Long/WPL are now manufacturing 1/16 scale RC trucks, so it seemed sensible to create a forum area dedicated to the amazing things that members are doing with them. Post your builds, mods, and tips here.

If you take a look at the CrossRC range of trucks, you will see what WPL have got in the pipeline.

It would be helpful if www.cross-rc.com gave the scale of each of their offerings including spares and a price list would be handy.

Looking at their site, it says 1/10 scale under each photo?

Like any manufacturer, prices depend on which retailer they are purchased from? They aren't cheap, I know that much.

I just took a look at Greens, he does indeed have his menu's listing the wrong scales although the scale is shown in the model description. I just dropped him an email, so he will rectify it shortly. The site is maintained externally, by a company that probably knows nothing about RC trucks... :'(

I am not sure that comparing CROSSRCs nearest to 1/16 r/c truck the 1/14 6x6 is fair if only by comparing the £30 to £40 Heng Long/WPL 1/16 4x4 to the £617.95 which Green are asking.
It might have an extra axle but that is not going to persuade buyers on a Tank Forum with a £30 r/c truck to spend more than £600 on a six wheeler equivalent when the same amount of cash could buy just about any 1/16 Tank in the Heng Long/Taigen/Torro catalogue.

I wasn't comparing the trucks, just responding to the WPL line up for the future. Large scale RC trucks are all very expensive, but one thing I can tell you is that the profit margins for retailers are tiny, the manufacturers take the lions share. The mind boggles at the prices of some stuff in the rock crawling hobby, £200+ for metal rear axles?? I could buy a whole tank for that.
