Re: HL Truck Mods
Its surprising - the trucks have been improving out of sight since this thread got started.
Give me a couple of weeks - something is in the mail.

Re: HL Truck Mods
They are all getting better and the internals improving all the time as WPL and the others are listening and making something that people want to use and abuse that doesn't rip the bottom out your pocket.Estnische wrote:Its surprising - the trucks have been improving out of sight since this thread got started.

Its ingenious what these guys have done and i commend them.
The FY004 is a great truck, here is one i did recently with simple mods and a little paint.

Re: HL Truck Mods
The FY004 is a very nice truck and a bit of a bargain for the price,
Paint the silencer with "Rust" and add a rear of cab fire extinguisher then fit the optional "Tilt" and an E-Bay sourced working "Tow Hook" and it starts to look quite good ,
A tip for the rear tilt flap,
To keep it closed just glue a small Neodymion magnet on the inside upper of the tailgate and it will attract the steel bar in the tilts flap.
After the nice words comes the Downside
I wanted to remove and strip the cab so I could detail the interior and fit an upgraded all singing replacement WPL MFU with sound card and rear lights and a two speed gearbox,
Unfortunately the Factory has fitted an Airbrake air Tank holder on one side of the chassis and a drum fuel tank on the other side,
The screw heads holding these items to the chassis are inside the air tank holder and the fuel tank both of course being glued together,
Not a problem EXCEPT that they are covering two of the screw heads on the chassis holding the cab to the chassis Dohhh
I have a tube of Superglue debonder which might allow me to open up these two parts but I doubt it will be that easy.

I know some who are great, but I don't do myself. I tend to go source tyres from around the world.
