PANTHERTURM BUNKER
Mr Reaper has a project going on that left a spare Panther turret kicking around ..............
I suggested I could build him a Pantherturm strongpoint out of it.
Wont take long, and it should make a cool extra at the club battlefield.
Going to use a surplus RX18 to give it life.
Used a tupperware container with a compression lid.(sorry dear )
Cut a hole in the lid, and carved it out to take the slew ring and just enough room for the rotation motor set.
Bunged some grey primer on it to simulate concrete, and and screwed it to a wooden base I had.
Tonight im working on getting the turret a bit better, doing welds, texturing the armour etc.
Ive used a spare metal muzzle brake on it, and made a couple of handles.
I know most of these were 'A' model turrets, but this is to-hand and its going to do.
Still trying to get the spent shells for the outside, but I will wait patiently for those.
A basic landscape, some barbed wire posts, a bit of dirt & rocks, doneski.

Re: PANTHERTURM BUNKER
I've had one of those laying around since my Pantiger to Jadgtiger project. Guess I'll have to do one now.
After the chainblocks, of course.

Re: PANTHERTURM BUNKER
Got a bit of the base done.
Used polystyrene I had , outside with a bread knife having a fat time, look around to see the yard looking like an Alaskan blizzard !
Took ages to clean up.
Made the entrance area out of cut round dowel white glued to cardboard backing.
I'm off out to the boonies for a week so no more progress.

Re: PANTHERTURM BUNKER
Could drop the turret and make it a V1 launcher

Re: PANTHERTURM BUNKER
It was suggested that I build a launching ramp for our battlefield, but I declined when I discovered the full size ramp was 48 metres long.

Re: PANTHERTURM BUNKER
That's only 3m in our scale !
Keep in mind Mr Reapers system
Is an improved 1946 version that uses a different booster to assist with the launch off a much shorter run
