Hello,

I want to show you what I am working on the HL-Abrams

I want to make a chain tensioning system, but first I have fitted the wheels with ball bearings.
So I can customize axes for mounting to the eccentrics.

here some pics,i think this is better to understand than my bad english :{

here, the flange bearing, and the twisted stainless steel axle, as she finds I also used on the metal rollers for the tiger.

Two flange bearings are used for one caster,

as you can see, it is very easy to equip these wheels with ball bearings.

To be continued ..........

Greetings Guido

Hello,

now I've completed the prototype for the clamping system.

a few pictures of it , I do not want to hide from you.

The gate can be very quickly removed using a suitable saw.

The clamping system is build that the chain tension can adjust, on the 4mm Allen bolt later from outside the model, it eliminates the need to open the tank.

A small series is now in preparation, and will then be soon listed in our shop.

Hello Brian,

have you ever seen a Heng-Long Tank with a well working tensioner? 8O

The plan ist to have this new item within one week in stock, first i have to calculate the price for a set with bearings and lathe turned axels.

When everything is finished, you can find it here in the forum and also in my little shop. ;)

with kind regards,Guido

Hi Guido,
Many thanks I'm just doing the last few bits on my Abrams so far metal tracks/road wheels/sprockets/idler's/ suspension arms. So very heavy now. So will look forward to getting the idler adjuster. The Leopard 2A6 has a good adjuster it works well so why they didn't use that one on the Abrams is a mystery to me!!! . Brian...

Yes, I did, I have one.
The Leopard 2a6 has originally adjustable wheels at the front.

I changed them to metal already.

Hello,

i am very sorry, but tensioner in plastic are no tensoiners for me.

It looks like it might be something, but it can not, or not very long.

Does HL use metal road wheels on the Abrams? I thought they were plastic.

Hello,

my friend Dominique from rctank.de , have 2 versions on his website, one with Metallrollers, and one with the plasticparts.

So this what you see here,is the Metallversion.
