Post by Saxondog »

Members, A warning about a company in the USA called Steel Dragons, owned by Richard Tripp has been posted on 1/6th Army Groups site in the US. Several other companies filed in court to stop this man from copying their products. This situation has been going on for some time, yet for newer members and for the entire community this information should be shared.

These are 1/6th scale companies, and many are known to us here. The warning is posted on 1/6th Army group and I have included the links.

Also posted by reputable dealers on the Armortek forum are some post about the shop. Richard Tripp basically would purchase copy and resale the parts and components of other dealers. The years of work and cost to develop these products and designs being bypassed using this method.

This "Pirating" still occurs with some dealers, and like everything else comes down to money. So buyer beware, your purchases support either the people who have made our Hobby so much better, through their hard work, their inventiveness and their determination.

Our supports people who consider their actions acceptable because they have the means to remain operating and avoid financial responsibility.

Personally I have experienced this situation, and remain unable to prevent my design from being copied and marketed as the work of another. The company in question will be made public in time, my need to protect this forum and my family prevents full disclosure.

Through the forums many have been exposed. If we the Hobbyist do not purchase there Pirated products they loose money. The situation really remains that simple. we are the market. And we have the power to control the market through our choices.

Tankers make the right one, spend a few extra coins to prevent Pirating.
