I concur about the magnifying glasses—most helpful and hilarious.

I have one of those round, see through magnifying lamps when my old eyes fail me.

Re: [D-DAY] My Tiger 1 Normandy build
Good Evening,
I've got one of those Sets for seated close up work. If I'm at the Counter, I use my Tensor Lamp with the gigantic magnifier built into it. Real Eye Savers!
regards,
Painless

Re: [D-DAY] My Tiger 1 Normandy build
Many years ago I bought a "Tamiya Magnifying Visor" which came with 3 spectacle lenses,
As with so much from Tamiya it was not cheap but it has served me well and continues so to do,
When I was going through my Cataracts period They certainly helped with my model building.

I think I am about to upset someone

You ever get seasick when you're working on something and bump it just a tiny bit? Drives me crazy! Must...finish...last...crazy...glue...joint...PainlessWolf wrote: ↑Mon Jan 29, 2024 11:32 pm Good Evening,

Coleman Collector,
I hear you. I learned to close my eyes or look away fast if the lamp got nudged. The mount comes with tighteners built into the joints but it's too heavy to really stabilize with those. It's mounted across the Counter now so I just pull it over if I need it.

I have used these for a decade. I was first alerted that the "7" power would be too much magnification for me. In about two hours' time, I was accustomed to them.
Now I wish there were an "8" or even "10."

Yes, those. I like the light and interchangeable lenses

I found I had to take off my reading glasses to use the magnifiers properly
