"Might also try running a redundant headlight inside it to shine thru the IR filter for added effect." I think this is a great idea, Herman. I am going to watch your modifications with care because I have a stash of modern tanks and far too little knowledge of them or of HengLong innards.

Probably a better assembly process than was used in the actual factory;)

Are you sure that’s not the new “snow dot” camouflage pattern briefly experimented with by the Most Serene Republic of San Diego?

Or is that merely a young tank going through puberty?

Well as I predicted, the hack & slash took place.
Hooked in with the cut off blade on my multi-tool & off went the BB unit.
That makes a clean path for the barrel smoker tube.
Also got on with the front glacis plate ersatz armour that was added to the Lions by the Iraqis.
Cardboard template to get a close rendition, then a 1.5mm black styrene sheet to get the live version.
Once it goes on Im sure the welds , spall bars, tow cable and famous wave break Vee will get the look right ;)

Still a lot of destruction to enjoy before the reassembly begins...........(I love the smell of melting plastic in the morning 8) )

In order to get the right look of periscope lenses in the commanders station I had to slice the top of the cupola off :O
There’s no other way.
Once they are in I can mask them off for painting.
A lot of piss farting for a small detail but that’s what it is.
