Re: ASAD-BABIL "LION OF BABYLON" IRAQI ARMY FEB 1991
The T55 is off the bench for now and the Lion is on the starting block, ready to go.
In a deviation from my usual hull up method I am going to work on getting the quirky dazzler done first.
Then I can get its mount on the turret and set about filling the holes left by the redundant ERA .
Tonight while watching the Cricket, it’s Lion taming time !!

Ahh, yes. The Dazzler. I look forward to seeing how you tackle it! Mighty piece of Chinese technology that it is.

Good thing is that is has such low expectations!!
Thinking of plastic tube with styrene half round attached all the way round it.
Might also try running a redundant headlight inside it to shine thru the IR filter for added effect.
Don’t want to get ahead of myself!

Fair enough. I admit deep, long term addiction to ugly cars and tanks.

I support any approach. For what it’s worth, it’s not certain that all of them worked, so a decision to go without electronics could almost be historically correct.

Well this should be epic.
How exactly did I miss this thread again? Oh bother as Pooh says...
Mr. B. I propose a feature that when it gets the requisite number of hits from the IR battle mode the turret pops off 3 feet high and blazing fire shoots from the turret hole. Simulated fire of course...

Re: ASAD-BABIL "LION OF BABYLON" IRAQI ARMY FEB 1991
Oops, I slipped & wrecked a perfectly good model
Checked all the fasteners, tightened all the swing arm bolts, added a drop of PVA to the drive sprocket bolts, checked the idler wheels for security, and verified the gearboxes are indeed steel as advertised.
Now its on with the birth of a Lion Of Babylon.
Stripped the turret of all redundant hardware & wiring, marked the BB mechanism for death, ready to accept the barrel smoker system.
Tomorrows going to be a great day, I feel the "Mother of all " hack & slash is upon me
