Hi all,

The reason for not making this one RC is really simple: I hardly drive with my tanks and cars!
Years ago I had 15 RC tanks but decided to sell all the RC parts.
Now I have 1 operational Kingtiger, a Kubelwagen and a Schwimmwagen.
The Kingtiger (Tamiya with Elmod) I finished 1.5 years ago and since then I have driven it once at a clubmeeting, and maybe twice at home.
So, basically it is not worth the money!

At the other side, when building tanks with photo-etch and figures, they are too fulnerable for damage.
I remember my first Wecohe Panther! A trackpin wasn't completely in the tracklinks, and it caused a lot of twisted photo-etch parts when the schurzen came in contact with the pin. It was a funny sight do to see the schurzen fly of the Panther. Unfortunately the video is lost (it was the Panthers first drive!)

With regards,
Rob from Holland

"It was a funny sight do to see the schurzen fly of the Panther." Indeed, I would be laughing and crying at the same time. Keep up the great work: I watch for your photos.

Hi guys,

Construction is 99.9% done.
I only need to drill 2 holes for the towing cable stays on the engine deck.
Unfortunately my minidrill died, and broke my last 0.5 mm drill.
So if anybody has a link for a sutable minidrill replacement, let me know.

The reseve tracklinks where treated with a gun blueing agent, and looks pretty good.
But for the whole track set I need probably another 3 bottles or so, making it too expensive.
The tracks are painted with a Humbrol rattlecan.

More updates after my holiday!

Hi all,

Amazing what a lot of hobbytime you get when SWMBO is away for a holiday!

The Panther is now in it's "Summer Camouflage" and some detail painting is going on.

A big disaster happened as I can not find my masks for the turretnumbers.

I know exactly how they look which makes it iesy to look for (wrapped in a blue see through plastic bag) but I've searched twice and still they are AWOL!

Hopefully I'll find them when I'm back from holiday.

The knock out marks on the spare tracks are removed, now I need to find out how to paint them rusty.

Also ythe wooden parts of the tools need to be painted (with oilpaints)

And finally a wash to blend in all the colors. But that can be done after I applied the turret numbers.

I hope you like it so far!

Hi guys,

The next step with the figures!
I painted the faces and arms/hands with a dark brown oil paint, en then dry-brushed most of it off.
Then I dry-brushed flesh colour on. Tomorrow I'll do more dry-brushing for the higher points like noses and do.

Here are all the figures:

First step, dark brown a\oilpaint in all the cravices.

And the flesh colour dry-brushed on!

Hopefully tomorrow more!

Hi all,

Finally the figures are (almost) finished!
Many a times I want to throw them out, but then I walked away and returned to my mancave (which I have to share with my wife  )!
The fit of the figures on the Panther isn't 100%, but I expected that as these figures are made for the trumpeter Panthers.
But I am more then happy with how they look.

The driver will be replaced by a figure who sits in the tank, as I want to show a Panther on the move!

That is a dead set proper awesome job mate.
That tank is perfect and the crew & riders are simply spectacular.
I hope mine looks half as good as that

Your Panther is great, Rob! I like all the moveable hatches. (I wish all the RTR tanks came with all hatches that can be opened.) The riders are such a fine addition, and I am intrigued by your way of painting them darker and then dry-brushing on a lighter flesh color. I have to try that trick!
