I found the easiest way to do the dots is to dip a cotton swab in the paint and to start dotting the tank! :haha:

I agree most people do too few dots, I think you've done an excellent job of duplicating them. Your tank is looking fantastic! I'm building mine and I wish I were able to do half as good a job as you have.

Depends if you go factory finish or not. There is a really good study on it here, but only really applies to factory applied ambush, which is the post zimmerit stage:

hello again

thanks a lot for your kind comments!

billpe, could you please provide us with the complete link? as i said, there is no proof -of what i'm aware of- that there existed an order that no dots were to be applied over the zimmerit, i know i'm looking for an exception here in order to do my job more 'historically accurate', is for this that i said before i will use certain 'artistic license' here

well, the works of the last days:

i used these self-made templates to paint the numbers and balkankreuz

Image

Image

Image

finally, i was not even sure how to do the white outline on the turret numbers, as for not to spoil the job already done, i decided not to paint this outline, so low visibility black numbers only

then, i applied a coat of glossy varnish in order the oils will flow better and to protect the previous paint works before starting the weathering process.

Image

Image

after a filter was applied all over the tank, i applied the oil dots Technic in order to add more Chromatic variations and to 'melt' a bit the colours

then the pigments, made from chalk pastels

Image

Image

now several pics with natural light, some on the shadow and some on the sun, with all the tools and cables already in possition

i stil have to do some minor corrections, and then do the tracks weathering, i'm almost on the finish line
