Hi,
Thx Chaps for your continued interest.
I finally got around to putting some primer on the hull and turret areas mainly to protect the plasti card from U/V rays and also to highlight any imperfections, fortunately there were only a few ( well to me anyhow ).
The bolt detail really stands out now so pleased with that.
Next job on to the large Optic device that fits on the right side of the turret in the cut out area.
Cheers.

Hi Will,
Thx for looking in, been struggling to find the time lately, but managed to do a little bit more on the headlight assemblies
Added an outer cover over the headlight "box" and made some outer headlight bezzels, not much, but a pain to do, it does alter the appearance of the assembly and now i can fit some headlight lenses if i wish over the LEDS.
Regards.

Hi.
So very close to the end of my halftrack build i have turned my attention back to the Scout, the most difficult bit i think and that is the main cannon optics pod, this sits external to the turret itself to the right front side in a cut out on the turret front and side, it is a rather complex shape to make and has taken a few months thinking about, but i think i may have sorted it, firstly the housing is a flat topped dome structure this then has the gun sight window attached to the front of it and a protective structure mounted on the outside edge of the dome, from what i can see the whole dome moves up and down with the gun.
I finally decided to make the dome from a 1 piece fibreglass moulding so i made a mold and cast the fibreglass using polyester resin and fibreglass tissue, the dome is hollow so i can gain access to any lifting apparatus i may fit.
A couple of pics of the molding, first one fresh out of the mold and second one where i have sanded a flat base.
Regards.

The model has moved on since last post.
The cannon slaves to the pod, or the pod slaves to the cannon...which ever...

The 4 holes on the pod shield are actually 4 recessed bolts with hex bolt heads

A few photos.
