Muck it up. It's too pretty. Looks like it just rolled off Daimler-Benz assembly line.

The cruddier the better.

If you want to just dull the shine, may I suggest a quick shot of Dullcote or similar matte clear coat finish. It'll keep the crispy new look but dull down the shiny aspects. If however you are going to weather it, theres no need for the Dullcote yet as the Heng Long factory paint is very resilient, or shall I say tough as nails.

She's yours have fun and enjoy. If you run her outside enough she'll eventually develop a certain patina.

How about this as a compromise?

Pull an arm off your tank commander, paint the stump red, and drizzle red paint around the cupola and down the side of the tank.

Battle wound!
