since the Schwimmwagen is offered on ebay.de for 179, - € including shipping, I have become weak ...
Shipped yesterday and arrived here 30 minutes ago.

The "remote control" is poor made, but does its job perfectly.
Driving is equipped with a braking function around the zero position.
Control elements (not described in the operating instructions):
- a 3-step switch on the top right is for speed 50 - 70 -100%
- two push-buttons in the center right for electronic steering trim
- two push-buttons at the bottom right to set the sensitivity of steering
- push-button AUX3 on the left above the on / off raise or lower the "water drive"
That's all.

The Schwimmwagen is very well made of the details and technical !
Even if the drive train is made of plastic, all bearings are equipped with miniature ball bearings - respect, I would not have expected that !!
The "water drive" took me just under a minute to break in so far that it turned at full speed.
This was due to the paint that was applied everywhere.....

Compared to an Asiatam Kübelwagen, the Schwimmwagen is much better to drive!
The suspension is only equipped with short distances, but it does what it should.

The package includes a warning label:
IMPORTANT! Do not push the vehicle forward or backward by hand when it is switched off!
There is a reason, as described above, almost all components of the drive train are made of plastic - including the driveshafts!
The small driveshafts are quickly sheared off:


Due to the encapsulation of the differential gear at the front and rear, the water does not drain very quickly => see drops in the picture above.
If you drive immediately into sandy / dusty terrain after swimming, you will only enjoy the swimming car for a short time, as the differential area will quickly become clogged.
Here you should check from time to time and clean if necessary.
Hopefully Torro will stock the right spare parts here.

I'm actually surprised and excited .... the little one is definitely fun.

Thank you very much, Andy. Excellent job on the videos. Except for the poor performance in water it looks good. I think I'll pass on one of these, though. 1/6 is so much easier to work with, and I hear Dragon is re-releasing the 1/6 Schwimmwagen, but they're sure taking their time about it. I suppose the virus didn't help, eh?

That's about the tiny-est battery I've ever seen, how much run time do you get with that?

Hi Max, I believe you could get both 2 and 4 wheel drive kubelwagens with it being powered from the rear wheels on the 2 wheel drive only version

Only very few 4wd ones made, and only between 1944/1945. They were strangely only 4wd in 1st gear!

Strange because the schwimmwagen was full time 4wd. The willys jeep was rwd but with high and low ratios and then 4wd for off roading as such.

This does look very cool though!!

Thanks for the info, guys. I was planning to make all of mine 2 wheel drive, but now I'll have to rethink the schwimmwagen. But I think it's a good thing, because I'm sure it will perform much better with four-wheel drive.
