Re: Crosslink Paints

I had commented that I "couldn't" find RAL 7028 on the Crosslink site. I did buy some Crosslink paint back in Dec 2023. I was going to see if RAL 1002 Sand Yellow was good enough by the time it is weathered. https://www.lvppaints.com/RAL1002-Sand- ... Plate.html

I also bought some 6003 and 8012 at the same time. The paint is diluted with acetone so it should be easy to spray.

I was waiting for Hesson to do another run of theirs, but so far it's been over a year and no new paint: https://hessenantique.com/german-wwii-d ... ray-paint/

I needed a spray can for my bigger 1/10th project.

I had also gotten the paint chip samples, and in my opinion they were pretty spot on. So if the color is in question I'd definitely suggest getting the sample as they don't accept returns.

Pictures do speak a thousand words. Great comparison presentation there. Very helpful. I went ahead an bit the bullet and ordered a can of the RAL 8000. I'm trying to tamp down my otherwise obsessive compulsive nature in my later years (ha) and whether a perfect DG or not, It'll do the trick. Many thanks for steering me in the right direction.

Thanks Derek,

Just when you thought you knew about most sources for 'custom' paints, you can always learn something new here from the august body that lies within this great Forum. I hadn't heard about the Hessanantiques as a potential source (even though they may apparently be falling down on the job of late). Still, I'll make note of it. Thanks.
