Hi guys,
I have a Taranis QX7 with 3 models loaded. I have noticed that if I change models that the receiver needs binding again for the model I am changing to. So, for example, I am currently 3d printing the SDKFZ 241 and have set up the radio and receiver to work as I want. If I now change models to the Comet I finished, the receiver is no longer bound to the transmitter. If I bind to the Comet all works as it should. If I change back to the Puma the puma receiver now requires re binding. Is this normal or I am missing something?

Re: Taranis Q X7 binding
Do you have a receiver in every tank? I think (but not sure) that your transmitter can only be bound to 1 receiver at the time for safety reasons

Re: Taranis Q X7 binding
Hi Jaap,
Different receiver in each vehicle. The transmitter is capable of storing 12 different models and I accept that you should only be able to control one vehicle at a time, but to have to bind the receiver everytime you change models seems a bit daft?

Hello,
the transmitter is capable store more than 12 models - it depends on the size of the sdcard.
Which operating system runs on the transmitter - OpenTX or EdgeTX?

Re: Taranis Q X7 binding
Transmitter is using Open TX. I have an I Range X IRX 4 module and the receivers are all flysky.
Re: Taranis Q X7 binding
Which version of OpenTX?
Which firmware is installed on the multiprotocol module?
Hopefully you are aware that a different model ID must always be set for each model when using the multiprotocol module....

Re: Taranis Q X7 binding
I have the same radio and I have them set up as different model IDs and each RX is bound to a different model. I just switch to the model I want to drive and everything works fine. I have had some firmware issues between the radio and the RX where I've had to upgrade the firmware in both to get the RX to bind, but that is a different issue.

Re: Taranis Q X7 binding
Thanks for your help guys, I have worked out what I was doing wrong. Each time I bound a receiver to a model I didn't change the receiver number in the model set up, D'oh!
Still have a lot to learn about open TX

Well at least it was a simple fix! Glad you got it sorted.
