Re: Help needed with El-mod and Futaba F-14
If its a 2.4 then its the binding, try standing a few feet away before you attempt to bind it, failing that, ExPat Tanker will know as he had the same problem.
If its not a 2.4 then it's one of two things:
1. The radio is not compatible with Elmod. Some aren't, but you may find out more on the Panzerketten forum.
2. Assuming that it is compatible, and assuming that you are running 4 channels, not 6. For set-up purposes use 4 channels as it is far easier.
The tank will do nothing until you find one of two channels.
a. The turret rotation/barrel up/down. Usually on the left stick.
or
b. The motor ignition channel. also on the left stick, but diagonal (mine is up right but yours may be different).
So, only use green, yellow, brown, orange.
The power goes in the top socket, and if yours is like mine the plug goes in the opposite way around to the channel wires (eg red is on the right). The channel wires are on the left. Again, yours may be different, so check the manual.
Now, if you have the power connected the correct way, we only have to resolve the channels.
Always switch the tank off before making any changes.
Get a pen and paper.
Write down, in a column on the left, green, yellow, brown, orange.
Now plug the 1 channel into 1 socket.
Turn the tx on. Then turn the tank on.
Check whether the board has stopped flashing to indicate that it has a signal.
Assuming that it has a signal:
Move the left and right stick both up/down and diagonally and see if anything happens.
If something happens, mark it on the sheet of paper. Note which channel was used for each colour.
If nothing happens, plug another channel in and repeat the process.
Sooner or later something will happen.
It is a long process, and it is trial and error, due to the various tx's they are all different.
One note of caution, the wires are not very well connected to the plugs, if you pull on the wires to remove the plugs then you will have to solder them back on again. Remove the plugs without pulling on the wires if you possibly can.
Hope this helps, let me know how you get on.
Cheers
