Sherman Stencils

Post by Nuc »

Afternoon all, apologises if this is in the wrong section.

I’ve recently purchased HL M4A3 105 Sherman, I got the pro addition so some parts need a lick of paint. But more importantly I don’t want to add another American Sherman to the ranks. I have decided to aim for a British Commonwealth or Polish variant.

I’ve found a few references for the correct markings but I don’t feel confident in doing them free hand. Does anyone know where I can get a stencil made or recommendations for how to make an appropriate scaled stencil myself.

Thanks Daryl.

Some you can find there:
https://www.rctank.de/US-SHERMAN_10

But I recommend our member Rad Schuhart who makes wonderful paint masks.

PS. For the record - Commonwealth and Polish Army on the West didn't used M4A3(105), only M4(105) but it's minor issue if it's your first tank.

Daryl: I second Kaczor's recommendation of Rad Schuhart. There are many books on the Sherman, too. For starters, check out then Sherman books from (and some by) this reliable seller: https://daviddoylebooks.com/

Morning, thank you for the replies. I should have mentioned I was looking to modify the rear deck and the turret to be in keeping with the M4 105.

The link you shared Kazcor is where I’ve primarily been looking to identify the various alterations needed.

Rad Schuhart I will take a proper look at your site over the weekend and hopefully be in touch.
