4 foot radio control Riva aquarama
4 foot radio control Riva aquarama
Ever since I saw one of these on Jerremy Clarksons mean machines back in the 90s I've been very much taken. After much searching and head scratching I managed to find a company in Vietnam who could build on of these to my specifications. The aim was to build a boat the acted as close to scale as possible.
Many model Aquaramas you see on you tube are very unstable in turns and seem nose heavy so push up a huge rather unrealistic bow wave. The hull was subtly redesigned with a deeper v and slightly enlarged spray rails to prevent this. Also care was taken to make her as light as possible.
She runs off dual 4665 1800kv brushless motors which provide a top speed of around 40kph.
Now all that left is to find some figures to crew her!

Tom,
That company did a wonderful job. Is there even any detailing left for you to do? Following along

Just need a couple of 1/6 scale figures to sit in her!
It's from a company call tantrasway, apparently there's about 600 hours work gone into it. Usually I don't go for RTR models but in this case there's no kit out there in this scale and I don't have the facilities to scratch build something like this!

Good find alpha! I wonder if the stainless skeleton will let me use magnets to stop her falling off.

Tom!,
I wonder if your Mate will use rare earth magnets to permanently attach the frying pan to your head as a reminder? ;o)

Depends if she finds the figures before they are afforded the context of the boat!PainlessWolf wrote:Tom!,

One thing I am sure of is that not telling her how much it cost will prolong my life expectancy no end.....

Probably.... these are really nice...believe it or not found them when I was looking for Tires for my VW model ...what makes them nice is that they are seamless...so none of those GI joe /Barbie type joints price not to bad too ....Can you see that hair blowing in the wind as that boat is in motiontomhugill wrote:Good find alpha!
