New member from California

Post by Markocaster »

Hello All, I am living in Norther California, originally from County Durham, England.
New to the r/c tank world , I have mainly built static models & 1 r/c Tamiya 1/35 tiger 1 some years ago. After much reading on this forum and scouring the web I am about to order a HL tiger one with metal upgrades off eBay from a California seller and can't wait to start detailing and painting it :)
I look forward to learning much more from the amazing modelers on this forum. cheers Mark.

Thanks for the warm welcome :)
I have spent the last few hours online and I think I have narrowed my search down to 2 tanks
IMAX Taigen tiger 1 early version, but I cannot decide if I should get the basic model or the all metal, I want metal tracks and could upgrade the basic one , but I suspect it would end up cheaper in the long run just getting the metal one to start? I am not bothered about a metal turret but metal chassis seems more durable? I am going to get the IR version not airsoft one, I can't see using airsoft and battling w IR seems cool. Any suggestions or advice appreciated. Cheers Mark

go for the "built-not - Bought" option, and how satisfying can an I.R. hit be compared to a BB with variable ballistics & a smooth bore ??!!!!
Look after that Americas Cup mate, we will be wanting it back fairly soon.

Don't own any Taigens ... yet lol... but if I were to get one... I wouldn't mess around... and just go with the High end model it costs like maybe 150 dollars more...but has more metal components slightly better gearboxes (because it's heavy) 20lbs+....so well worth the additional cost IMO.... I would also opt for the IR ... as it will probably be equipped with the recoil unit giving you the "cool" effect when firing :D

Good Luck... Happy Modelling Mark
