I am considering making up a Leopard 2A6 and was wondering if anyone on the forum is aware of any reference sources for camo patterns on Bundeswehr Leopard 2A6's.
I was wondering if there is any variety or if they all have the typical NATO colours & pattern.

Re: Bundeswehr Leopard 2A6 Camo Patterns??
Hi Clen,
I'm still doing my Leo2A6 but what I did to look for some patterns I just typed in Leo2A6 camo there's a lot of sites there . Believe it or not all the German tanks have exactly the same design.
If you look on billpe page I put one on there really strange coulor. Brian...

Re: Bundeswehr Leopard 2A6 Camo Patterns??
What brizo said. They use one pattern for everything. If you want a different scheme you could do a Dutch, Polish or Greek version of the 2a6. Or there are resin kits to do the applique armour and air conditioning boxes for the Canadian 2a6.
The story goes that originality all NATO tanks would use the same cocolor and pattern so from engagement distance would all look the same so the Warsaw pact horde wouldn't know what they were fighting. Pretty sound plan for lots of reasons. Except only the Germans stuck to this idea.

Thanks for the replies.
I don't mind the Bundeswehr pattern, though.
I sort of thought that might be the case, but it is sort of like when I buy a new vehicle, I like to check out all the available coloursbillpe wrote:What brizo said. They use one pattern for everything.

On another note just type in google "camouflage patterns nato" hit enter, when the results come up click on the word "images" at the top of the page of google..
Cheers!
This is why I will paint my forthcoming HL M1A1 to match my Tammy Leopard 2A6.
Does anybody know if we based our 90's era woodland camo pattern BDU's off this common Nato standard?
