so heres the thing, built my tiger up pretty much full metal taigen hull, thought great all those wonky idler wheels from my heng long are over! wrong! the taigen track tensioner has loads of play the hub goes into the hull!
after weeks of messing with road wheel alignment, shims, taking the tensioner half to pieces and still shedding tracks I hit upon a genius idea.
just shim the hub around the hub where its goes through the hull and hey presto, straight running idlers! no more track shedding or track horns over riding the idler!
word of warning though make sure you set the track tension how you want it before you glue the shims in, unles you remove the idler hub and glue them in first, but that's hassle! hope this helps someone!

Sponge,
So on your Taigen Tiger 1 lower hull, the Taigen Idler Adjuster shaft was loose where it inserts through the lower hull? The lower hull came with this Adjuster mounted or did you have to assemble it and install it as an aftermarket item? I'd like to know as I have to assemble and install one in a Taigen hull later this year. Pictures of what you did if you can, please?
regards,
Painless

hey painless, it was not the axel but rather the hub that mounts to the axel then the idler , it came fitted in the hull, I don't know if it was loose when I first got it, you can adjust the lateral play in the axle by adjusting the bushes on the inside of the hull, I will try post some pics of what I did to get rid of the horizontal/vertical play in the hubs for you

hey painless heres some pics for you
not sure how well you can tell from these pics but I've glued plasticard strips (about 5mm by 10mm) below the idler hub and in front of it (to push it back, it was and an angle, basically toeing in) then glued them in, its not pretty but no ones really going to see it accept me and it works! hope that helps!

Sponge,
Thank you for the pics. I'll keep an eye on mine for this issue during assembly. Cheers!
