My new Tiki Tiger 1
This is my new Tiki Tiger purchased from Dave / Forgebear.
I have yet to apply the Tiki decals but I am still deciding what mods to do.
It is currently at the following spec:
Taigen full metal edition
IR ready
Metal tracks, sprockets, idlers & road wheels
Full torsion bar suspension and track adjuster
Metal turret, hatches, barrel & tow shackles
Brass etched engine grille covers
2.4ghz TX/RX
Black steel gears
All comments or suggestions most welcome.
I want to modify this further but I don't want to ruin the excellent paint scheme.
I am far from been a purist in any form so will be fitting spare track links to the turret and debating whether or not to badge her up under the correct Tiki numeric or use the 007 numerics.
I intend to fit mesh over the rubber hoses on the air cleaners to make them look more realistic.

Looks great Merlin....like the effects you got with your airbrush...there were some other Tikis made... had the name Tiki painted on the side... I would say that's the only thing missing from yours....overall though.. it's a great job...perfect for the snow

Hi Alpha, I would love to claim the paintwork as my own but that's how it came.
I have the Tiki decals ready to fit.

There was but one Tiki from SS Panzer Regiment 2 attached to the Das Reich Division . It carried first the 812 tactical number and then 833. Tanks from the same Regiment were painted in a similar manner with the same colours though.ALPHA wrote:Looks great Merlin....like the effects you got with your airbrush...there were some other Tikis made... had the name Tiki painted on the side... Thanks for the history Bill.... but I was referring to models made here on the board... I know of only two..there might be more...as in on of those threads it did say the "Tiki" was a popular buildbillpe wrote:There was but one Tiki from SS Panzer Regiment 2 attached to the Das Reich Division . Merlin,
I am with you. The paint on that tank is beautiful. Try to make your accessories match. You have an airgun so you can do it. ;o)

Painless

Thanks guys, means a lot to hear the good comments.
I am tempted to airbrush the decals on as they look better than standard stick on versions.
I have a unique way of doing battle damage that I used to do on my big Airfix and Tamiya static kits?
Basically, you sand an area down exposing the base material and then apply some aluminium rub n buff. Paint original colour over again and let dry.
I then shoot that area from a distance with my air gun. The impact causes an indentation but also scratches the top layer of paint exposing the silver rub.
Makes for ultra realistic 3d damage.
