Crusader MK II, 7th Armoured Brigade, 7th Armoured Division
Yesterday i start with my new project. It will be my 3th Scratch Tank. Now, i want to build an Crusader.
Thats what i want to do
For an Basis, i use some parts from http://www.asiatam.de" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
- Suspension Parts Panther
- used Rims and Tires from an T34
- used Panzer IV wheels ( rear )
- used Panzer III Chains ( will modified this later )
- new Asiatam 3:1 Gearboxes ( very good and chepa too )
The rest i will build by myself
Thats what i was doing yesterday
The body i build out of 2mm Polysterol
So it looks like later when its done, i just put the parts in to see how it looks like. i hope it will work great, the chance is very good till now

Re: Just start my new Project
Its good to see a British tank being built, as until the Comet came along they were hopelessly outclassed by the superior engineering and design of the German forces. Its another example of a British idea (from WW1) being improved and perfected by a nation with foresight. Example, when Si r Christopher Cotterall invented the hovercraft the Royal Navy didn't back it as it wasn't a boat, the Airforce didn't want it as it wasn't a plane and the Army didn't back it as they didn't know what the f**k it was. Its no wonder this nation is in the state its in.

Re: Just start my new Project
I see it like this, i´m German and what you see in the Forum around the World, the most Modells are German Tanks. Did most peoples don´t know Tanks or Vehicles from other Countrys?!? There are so many very interessing stuff. French , British, Japanis Tanks...... Why the hell, the companys, like HL, Tamiya and Co. don´t bring some different. And i try to do this without CNC Technicals, it all or close to all handmade, with tools, like close everybody has. I want some different, also i try to buildt all important vehicles of 1940-43 Northafrica. This one is very important for my colletion.
Re: Just start my new Project
Dear Manual It is really good to see that you are making some of the less known armoured vehicles, they seem very neglected by the major manufacturers but due to the wide variety of Deutsch vehicles and the way they look they will always be popular. I was at Duxford on Sunday for a Tank festival and I was talking to a guy who had restored almost by himself a duplex drive Valentine tank. He thinks that it is one of the last in existence and was used for training tank crews on the Sherman DD tank, it was found derelict in an old factory and he had to rebuild all of the turret, the vehicle started quite easily after over 65 years lying abandoned. If you ever make a Comet tank I would be very interested in buying one from you, my main interest is WW2 vehicles in the European theatre 1943 until the conflicts end. Best wishes Mark

Re: Just start my new Project
Hi Mark,
wow, interesting story, did you made some pictures?! Valentine it´s interesting, but for this time i have a lot of Projects first.
@all
update
i cut a lot of brass tubes 5 and 6mm
i pressed the tubes together
the tubes are the new bearings (?) for the rims
Now, when i was buildt in the complet suspension i got the right heigt from the sprocketwheels. I buildt way to high in this, so i correct this
As basic i glow some PS-Sheeds together and fill it up with Resin. Thats really strong, now.
For safity i was soldering on the top of the brass and glow PS behind the spring, now it can´t Fall out
Than i was building the same suspension system, like the other 4 axles to the first axles, but with different degrades ( sorry, my english is very bad )
I closed the drilled hole for th original T34 Part idle wheel
Out of brass i build an own adjustable one ( don´t know the name for that thing, we call it Kettenspanner )
Kettenspanner from top
close to completted Suspension
Next days i will build in electrical for Testdrive

Thanks to all for the nice Feedback.
When i bought the Panther Parts the Metal Torsion was inside the set. But if you are looking at a toolmarket, you can find Springmetal cheap at this tool
or
packet bandag for StonePaletts
