Mato Metal Tiger

Post by doc watson »

Oh no..... late night shopping......

Got a Mato all metal tiger, bought an el-mod pro control board and also have replaced the gears and motors with a superb drive unit from modellspiegel.

Bought a few other things and will start the build soon. Do you want pictures or lots of pictures?

You have been patient... had loads of work so finally Friday night is TIGER TANK NIGHT!!!!

The tiger arrived and I then spent 3 hours taking it apart. The brass gearboxes supplied were taken out as I have something a little better....

Here is the motor/gearbox and drive sprockets

Drive sprockets are in 2 parts, brass bush is held onto the drive shaft with 2 grub screws and the sprockets are attached by a bolt through the sprocket.

The hell hole... sorry I mean hull hole. There is a mato circular plate that was glued into the hull which popped out after using a small persuader (hammer).
