Hello!
Hopefully this post is in the right place on the forum...
So I have searched high and low across the net and various forums and never seen any clear instructions on how to bind the Heng Long 2.4GHz Transmitter to it's companion RX18 board.
I have this kit without instructions:
http://www.ozarmour.com/store/heng-long ... e-kit.html
It's been sitting in my bin for a year now waiting for a use and that time has come for my Mato M4A1(76)w since the electronics have been giving me endless headaches with controller response and fidelity. The tank moves in the other direction when trying to do a subtle left turn for instance, it will go right for a split second before going left, and the right steering controller is stiff as heck making slow easy turns very difficult. Annoying... anyway, I have the binding frequency wire thingy but no idea how to do it. It's not like how one binds Taigen for instance with the top two toggle switches since this thing has 3 buttons at the bottom instead.
Anyone have any idea on a step by step? I've even asked the seller I bought this from, other sellers on eBay and elsewhere and not a single one has replied to my queries on the process and I've been sitting stumped for weeks. The only replies I did get were "we do this before we ship it out".
Thanks!

Re: How do I bind the Heng Long 2.4GHz x-mitter to the HL RX
BFT2002,
Welcome to the forum. If you bought this kit it should be binded already by default. If not, here is the instructions from the HL Leo A6 which comes with the new HL 2.4Ghz radio:
1. Turn on the radio and the tank
2. Press and hold the Start button on the radio
3. Press the Binding button on the receiver/tank
That should do it. I have never used the HL 2.4Ghz set as I sold mine new after ripping it out of the Leo but that's what is in the Leo instruction.
I hope this helps, and is the correct procedure.
Good Luck.

Re: How do I bind the Heng Long 2.4GHz x-mitter to the HL RX
Great thanks. Way more than I knew before. Only two questions, which button on transmitter is ignition? Left has a funny icon, then middle is G maybe for main gun, and right is K for MG, so did I just answer my own question? Left icon to me suddenly looks like an engine block. And where does the frequency swith plug into? There is one 3-port input called "cn8 st".
The place I bought it Matomart in Canada, doesn't seem to pre-bind these and has not been very helpful in providing instructions.
Seems I have a slight bigger problem though. I attach the batt to the plug, turn on the switch and almost instantly the red wires begin to super heat. I tested this with the power disconnected from the rx18 and no heat issues. Plug it in and it overheats. The wiring of the switch is correct as per Heng long and Taigen. Of the three poles on the switch the blacks share say the left pole, then a red is on each other pole. This is the first time I tried to power up the rx18 since receiving it last year so I'm perplexed.
Thanks.

Re: How do I bind the Heng Long 2.4GHz x-mitter to the HL RX
BFT2002,
The Start button is the Engine Button, the one on the left. The binding switch plugs into the cn8 as you said.
If the red wire is super heating then something is shorting and if you keep it plug in and leave it on it will start to melt. You might have cross some wires when you swap the electronics. The most obvious one would be the power switch. The wiring sounds correct but make sure there is nothing touching. If you can send a picture of the set-up might be helpful.
Just a stupid question, you are using the new MFU with the radio correct (i.e. you are using the "rx-18" that comes with the kit, right ?).
Where are you in Canada ?

I was just tracing this and removed the rx18 cover to check the pins on the PCB. Turns out the previous electronics plug had the red and black reversed and I never noticed until now.

Hey, so I'm in Ottawa.
I'm using the henglong 2.4ghz transmitter with the HL RX18. I just bound these together successfully so thanks to all for the information. The power wires were indeed swapped and so are the motor wires as forward reverses the tank and back goes forward. Mato wired everything in reverse.
