new project sherman calliope

new project sherman calliope

hi to all members thought I would have a go at a scratch build amassed a great deal of pics sort of took measurements by eye but wish I could get data and info of how the system works as some of the pics seem to show hydraulic pipes yet it looks like the barrel operates the tilt any info would be greatly helpful I have enclose a couple of pics to show how far I have got at the moment in time, cheers john

Remember when Monogram made them in 1/35th decades ago.............I made one would you believe.
The decals were Screeming Meemie for the turret sides.

Herman,
*chuckles* Same here. I loved that thing and thought it was so cool that the tubes went up and down with the main gun. That has been some 40+ years ago. Maybe we can talk John into making a couple more of the calliope units to sell. I'm going to have a spare lower hull here soon ( If Taigen indeed releases the new Sherman in October ) and could see an epic build resulting. ;o)

Yup same here...actually I remember having it more than once....think it was originally made by Revell....they sold out to Monogram...the other multi tubed favorite was the Ontos :D

Nice build I thought of building this a few years ago but like a lot of things I never had the time great job.
