Another Panther G conversion to an earlier mark
As promised to Alpha n dgsselkirk hopefully some update on my current build a conversion of a panther g to earlier mark. i thought about using my spare jagdpanther hull a panther g deck and on suggestion by Alpha a pantiger turret for this build. On sourcing all of those plus a conversion kit from andreas brinker to convert to earlier mark with metal slim twin exhausts a cooling fan panel, pantiger turret was fitted with panther g barrel. An attak zimmerit kit was also sourced. The deck lid from the panther g was cut and shut and fitted with the pantiger turret ring further forward, late cooling fan panel removed and conversion fitted . Radioman and drivers hatches shaved/filled new made and fitted in earlier position. mg mound removed attak one fitted, headlight removed and relocated to glacis plate from fender. drivers viewport added to glacis. some zimmerit fitted so far. heres some pics
basic panther g deck
side by side to show how much turret ring had to be moved forward to fit pantiger turret to g deck
underdeck lid bracing after cut n shut and also cooling fan panel cut out and earlier conversion put in and moulded
rear of deck showing earlier cooling fan and relocated aerial after all moulding and sanding provisional done
decklid after filling in sanding and some zimm fitted, relocated headlight, redone mg mound and new hatches fitted. Relocated pantiger turret ring fitted in and mouldedNot finished but work so far
back panel after new exhaust stacks fitted and zim
pantiger turret fitted with panther g barrel and some zim
next pic shows how far back pantiger turret sat on g deck before the turret ring was moved forward and shows it needs to be moved much further forward to get the right position.
Thats all so far folks updates to follow lots still to do

Love the zims...... Is it a combination of Atak and puddy ? I am also surprised at how much bigger the PanTiger turret look when fitted onto a Panther G hull. Very interesting !
